An update regarding the sale of Sanlam Life and Pensions.

We would like to provide an update following the recent announcements regarding the proposed sales of Sanlam Life and Pensions as well as Sanlam Private Wealth and Investments.

We at Sanlam Investments UK are accentuating our commitment to the UK market and our future as a pure boutique asset manager, supported by the global Sanlam Group based in South Africa.

Over the past two years, Sanlam Investments UK has been through a period of significant investment and change. We have built a modern operational infrastructure capable of supporting our growth plans, and have brought in a number of investment teams containing highly experienced specialist investors. We are all very excited about our future and the opportunities this purity of focus will bring in terms of strategic direction and clarity of message to the investment community.

We have created a compelling structure combining a strong boutique culture, autonomy and significant long-term equity alignment for our investment teams with a well-established, patient and committed parent in the Sanlam Group. We are the investment engine for the Group’s international operations, and alongside this we have built a range of specialist, differentiated products, run by true subject matter experts. We will be adding to this specialist range with three new exciting product launches planned for the coming months.

We wish our colleagues in the Life and Wealth businesses all the very best for the future, and we will strive to maintain strong relationships. We are delighted that Sanlam Investments is emerging from the Covid-19 era as a much stronger business, with an interesting story to tell and with a purity of focus on asset management and delivering returns for our clients.
